Danfoss Drives A/S
Danfoss Drives is a division of Danfoss A/S
with R&D centers in China, Denmark, Fin-
land, Germany, India, Italy and the USA.
We develop and market power electronics
solutions that manage energy to the high-
est standards. Our technologies can be
found in a wide range of industries such
as Automobile, Chemical, Cranes/Hoists,
Electronics, Food and Beverage, Heating,
Ventilation/Air Conditioning, Lifts/Escala-
tors, Marine/Offshore, Material Handling,
Mining/Minerals, Oil/Gas, Packaging, Pulp/
Paper, Refrigeration, Solar/Wind, Textile
and Water/Wastewater.
Danfoss was first in the world to series
produce variable speed AC drives. Since
1968 we have achieved a strong track
record in reliable, versatile and easy to use
drives. Exclusively focused on AC drives,
we are constantly working with a wide
range of customers where drives play an
integral part of the business. We help to
improve the customer’s own product or
process in order to bring the best possible
performance. The secret behind our suc-
cess lies in unique engineering craftsman-
ship and innovations. Our research focus-
es on making products smaller, smarter
and more efficient, while upholding high
standards of usability and quality. Our AC
drives represent technology that not only
helps save energy costs but also signifi-
cantly improves the process control. With
design centers on three continents we tap
into competences worldwide and highly
value our access to the European research
community through ECPE.
Danfoss Silicon Power, DSP
DSP, a part of Danfoss Drives, is a lead-
ing developer and manufacturer of cus-
tomized power modules and stacks.
We specialize in application-specific de-
signs in close cooperation with customers,
using e.g. 3-D mechanical construction of
power module components and coolers,
thermal and reliability simulations and
rapid prototyping. This customization ap-
proach helps customers; such as electric
drive manufacturers, automotive players
and renewable energy OEMs, provide high-
ly differentiated offerings to the market.
We also have emphasis on innovation and
our association to the European research
community through ECPE supports us in
this. Danfoss Bond Buffer
®
(DBB
®
) and
ShowerPower
®
are two such examples.
DBB
®
is the next generation bonding and
joining technology which can outperform
the current industry standard by over 15
times. ShowerPower
®
is highly reliable,
compact and a more cost effective solu-
tion than traditional indirect or direct cool-
ing technologies can offer.
